Method
Psychomotor work
What is psychomotor work?
Guidance/coaching via Psychomotor work is designed for children and adolescents who are experiencing developmental stagnation and express this in their behavior.
What does Psychomotor work involve?
Guidance/coaching focuses on behavior during play and movement. The coach helps the child/adolescent to process emotions, regulate stress, discover patterns, and learn new behavior through play. These new experiences are beneficial for development and life. As a result, the child/adolescent regains self-confidence and can move forward independently.
A rich learning environment will be created and individual needs will be met, also the child's environment and social interaction in their daily functioning will be taken into account.
For whom?
Children and adolescents from 4 to 18 years old, whose development is not going well or does not flow naturally.
Examples
- Would it be nice if your child recognized his anger earlier, so he explodes less often?
- Or do you want your child to face the world with more self-confidence?
- Or learns indicating his/her boundaries?; or learns how to stand up for him-/her-self?
- Do you want your adolescent to have more confidence in their own choices and abilities?
Signs or signals which show that your child is not feeling well can be:

Approach
The guidance/coaching is structured as follows:
Introduction
We will get to know each other and explore whether the support/coaching will be appropriate for your needs.
Exploratory Phase
In this phase, information is gathered and an action plan is developed. Once this plan is approved, the guidance/coaching begins.
Guidance phase
Further attention is paid to creating a safe environment and trusting the coach, creating space for learning. This allows for explore and practice with new behaviors. The client's environment will also be involved, allowing for continued practice and implementation of new behaviors outside of the guidance/coaching setting, such as at home and at school.
Completion phase
Once development has resumed, attention is paid to phasing out the guidance/coaching.
Every child is unique and develops in their own way. The foundation of our support is the trust that each child and their parents know exactly what they need to grow. This individuality is respected and strengthened, so that the child or adolescent can develop in their own unique way. Parents and the environment play a key role in this.
Body awareness
"Besides thinking with your head,
you also learn to feel more with your body."
